To address the trend of violent conflicts in Africa and Nigeria in particular the International Peace and Governance Council in collaboration with the Nigeria Army Institute of Science and Education is set to organize a three-day International Masterclasses on Leadership, Sustainable peacebuilding, inclusive governance, conflict management, and alternate dispute resolution to curb with the rising spite of insecurity in the region.
A statement signed by Fatimah Ibrahim Director, Media, and Communications to the United Nations International Peace and Governance Council in Nigeria said the conference is in line with the Pan African Leadership Symposium billed for 19th August 2022.
According to her, Some of the factors responsible for these violent acts are common to all communities in Africa while some are mainly attributable to the prevailing circumstances playing out in such communities
However, these prevailing circumstances have brought the need for the, Arise o Nigeria to extend its partnership with the UN International Peace and Governance Council, Highstone International University, USA, and the Nigerian Army Institute of Science, Education and Technology, Ilorin, Kwara State aimed at organizing a 5day executive master class training, thus featuring Participants from all works of life as they will be inducted as fellow members of AFRICA for Peace, Research and Diplomacy (IPGC).
She said they are to ‘Aquire relevant capacities for mapping out graphically conflict situations, conflict designs dynamics, structures and ontologies for decision making in a community.
Develop basic negotiation skills for conflict resolution in a community.
Domesticate some negotiation designs for community peacebuilding in Nigeria and Africa at large.
Develop a negotiating program for conflicting communities.
Be acquainted with different types of Alternate Dispute Resolution, ADR mechanisms to various community conflicts.’ The statement ended.
