A Group of APC Disability Forum has pledged support to the PWDs National Leader Hon Tolu Bankole, vowing to work for the success of the party and its Presidential flag bearer.
They made the disclosure today, Tuesday, July 19, during a solidarity visit to the National Secretariat of the party to submit a letter to retract their earlier opposition to the leadership of the PWD National Leader in Abuja.
Speaking at the event, Hon Bankole commended them for the initiative adding that such engagement is paramount to driving the force of politics in Nigeria.
“When you are leading, a big or small community, people must have the right to disagree and since I came in here I have been intentional in my interactions with everyone to enable everyone to have access to my office.
“I commend the National Chairman, Sen Adamu Abdullahi for being supportive of the plights of the PWDs community. He is working on a new office for the PWDs and in a few weeks, the installation of the elevator will be ready to enable PWDs to access the National Secretariat effortlessly.
“The party has prioritized the inclusion of PWDs as seen in the free nomination form for all PWDs aspirants during the recent party nomination process; members of this community were also included in the various screening and selection committees.
“I’m in talks with strategic authorities to ensure loans, grants, and other economic opportunities are extended to our community, and very soon you will all see the results,” Hon Tolu said.
Meanwhile, the group chairman Yerima Sulaiman noted that their disagreement was a mere belief that Hon Tolu will not yield to their plight, hence commending the party’s leadership for such a qualified leader.
