The Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) has called on the Guinean authorities to release those who were detained during the violent attack that took place on 28 and 29 July 2022, in Conakry
A statement signed by the ECOWAS Commission’s Communication officer Salett Nogueira today August 1, 2022, urged for a prompt investigation into the circumstances leading to the unfortunate incidents so as to bring the perpetrators to justice, in accordance with the law.
It noted that the Community through the ECOWAS Mediation led by H.E. Boni Yayi is committed to supporting the Transition authorities and the Guinean people in its endeavor to restore peace and constitutional order in the country.
