EKITI STATE COLLATION OFFICER SAYS TWO POLLING UNITS’ ELECTION WAS CANCELED DUE TO OVER-VOTING

The Collation Officer for Ekiti state for the presidential and National Assembly Election Akeem Lasisi has said that over-voting and bypass of BVAS necessitated the cancelation of two results.

He made this known while presenting the state 2023 presidential result to the INEC chairman at the National Collation Centre on Sunday in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital.

Lasisi said the total number of registered voters in the polling unit is 1786, hence Adoekiti local government ward 4 polling unit 7 and Ekiti East local government ward 7 polling unit 6 respectively could not make their list of compilation due to election malpractices.

According to him, a certain number of recorded voters was more than the actual number on the BVAS, thus applauding the commission and its strategies to boost the citizens’ confidence.
