BREAKING NEWS: INEC SEEKS THE PROSECUTION OF BARR. HUDU, VOWS TO RESUME COLLATION IN DUE COURSE

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) is set to write to the Inspector-General of Police demanding the appropriate investigation and prosecution of Barr. Hudu Ari, the Resident Electoral Commission for Adamawa State was suspended due to his unlawful declaration of the election results in the state.

This was disclosed on INEC’s Twitter handle at its meeting today, 18th April 2023 in Abuja.

The statement revealed that the meeting which had all National Commissioners discuss matters arising from the Adamawa Governorship election and decided to:

“Write to the Inspector-General of Police for the immediate investigation and possible prosecution of the Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) for Adamawa State, Barr. Hudu Yunusa Ari.

“Request the Secretary to the Government of the Federation to draw the attention of the appointing authority to the unwholesome behavior of the REC for further action.

“The collation process shall resume at a time to be determined by the Returning Officer.” A detailed official statement will follow shortly.
