The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced the withdrawal of its delegated powers to Barr. Hudu Yunusa Ari as the Resident Electoral Commissioner for Adamawa State, while ordering its Administrative Secretary to take over the affairs of the State office until further notice.
The directive is based on Barr. Ari purported declaration of result for the Adamawa State Governorship election on Sunday 16th April 2023.
In a statement Barr. Festus Okoye, the National Commissioner and Chairman, Information and Voter Education Committee Monday 17th April 2023 said “Accordingly, he has been directed to stay away from the Commission’s office in Adamawa State forthwith.
“Meanwhile, the Administrative Secretary has been directed to take over the affairs of the State office until further notice.” The statement ended.
