The Governor-elect for the just concluded supplementary governorship election for the Adamawa State Ahmadu Fintiri has vowed to implement his vision for infrastructural development in his second term of office.
He stated this while receiving a certificate of return at the INEC headquarters in Abuja.
The governor-elect lamenting on the unfortunate delay in arriving at the moment says it serves as a lesson for stakeholders in the electoral process, thus urging them to build on the nation’s democracy to attract good governance.
The Certificates of return were presented to Fintiri and his deputy, Prof. Kaletapwa Farauta, by the INEC National Commissioner for North-East, Baba Billa.
Recall, Aisha Dahiru-Binani of the All Progressive Congress (APC) was declared the winner by the Resident Electoral Commission (REC) for Adamawa state, Hudu Ari, while the process was still ongoing.
Necessitating the suspension of the erring REC and collation process on Sunday.
However, on Tuesday, the Commission concluded the process and declared Fintiri of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who pulled 430,861 votes to defeat his closest rival Binani of 398,788 votes as the winner of the Adamawa governorship supplementary election.
