The Department of State Services (DSS) has confirmed to have in his custody, the suspended Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Godwin Emefiele.
The arrest was prior to the suspension of the CBN Governor as ordered by Mr. President, Bola Tinubu at the late hour of June 9th, 2023 in a statement issued by the Secretary of the Government of the Federation.
Confirming the arrest today June 10, 2023, the Public Relations Officer of the Department of State Service, Dr. Peter Afunanya said for some investigative reasons the suspended CBN Governor was kept in their custody. The statement reads.
“The Department of State Services (DSS) hereby confirms that Mr Godwin Emefiele, the suspended Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) is now in its custody for some investigative reasons.
“The public, particularly the Media, is enjoined to apply utmost caution in the reportage and narratives concerning this.” The statement ended.
