The role of legislators in parliamentary proceedings has called for training and retraining of members to ensure good governance and accountability.
This is why both Speakers, the ECOWAS Parliament, Hon. Sidie Mohamed Tunis, and the East Africa Legislative Assembly (EALA), Hon. Joseph Ntakirutimana paid a working visit to the National Institute for Legislative and Democratic Studies (NILDS).
At the visit to the NILDS office in Abuja on Friday to sign a memorandum of understanding for effective legislature in the continent, the Speaker Hon. Tunis highlights the importance of the MOU adding that it will enhance the lawmaking process, public policy, and conflict resolutions to eliminate unconstitutional change of power and encourage dividends of democracy.
