RESERVED COMMENTING ON THE IReV MISHAP
The Independent National Electoral Commission is reviewing the performance of technology deployed for the 2023 general election to form an integral part of its comprehensive report and with a specific focus on actions necessary for the improvement of electoral activities in Nigeria.
Chairman of the commission, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu made this known at a meeting with civil society organizations on the review of the 2023 general election at the INEC headquarters in Abuja.
He said the review is necessary as it serves as a basis for further engagement with stakeholders.
Mahmood while acknowledging the many challenges encountered before and during the elections noted that despite those odds the use of the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) was very successful, regardless of the glitches in uploading the presidential election results to the INEC Result Viewing Portal (IReV).
