2023 POST ELECTION REVIEW: INEC HOLDS TALKS WITH SECURITY CHIEFS TO BUILD STRONGER SECURED POLLS

The Independent National Electoral Commission has engaged the nation’s security chiefs to discuss ways of improving on the lessons learned from the recent general election.

This is to enable the commission to take proper action on suggestions and recommendations on election security to curb the incidence of violence before, during, and after elections.

Speaking at the meeting today in Abuja, the Chairman of the commission Prof. Mahmood Yakubu said they were able to overcome many challenges in the 2023 General Election due to the agencies’ commitment to securing a conducive environment for the conduct of peaceful elections
