MINISTER OF INFORMATION SEEKS CITIZENS’ SUPPORT TO REBIRTH THE NATION

The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, has called for a collective approach towards strengthening the peace, unity, progress, and development of the country.

He made the call on Wednesday in Abuja during a courtesy visit paid by the Nigeria Institute of Public Relations, the minister reiterated the need for Nigerians to come together to change the country’s narrative to fast-track its move towards greatness.

According to him, one of President Bola Tinubu’mandates is to prioritize national re-orientation for economic development, adding that all hands must be on deck for the actualization of this vision.

This is our country; all of us have to come together and be transparent to ourselves. We must be honest with ourselves and ensure that whatever is wrong with us is corrected.

Addressing, the gathering, Idris appealed to the members of the Institute to join him in the struggle even as he sued for transparency and honesty on any issue that could hinder the nation’s progress.

Admonishing that the role of the NIPR in projecting a positive image for Nigeria cannot be over-emphasized and called on them to continue in that approach to achieve success.

We all know that NIPR has played a pivotal role over the years in projecting a positive image for our country. We need to deepen the efforts together with other members of the sector.

Meanwhile, the NIPR National President, Mukhtar Sirajo, commended the president for appointing Muhammad Idris as Minister, stressing that his wealth of experience and skills will yield results.

Thus, urging the Minister to establish communication channels between the government and the people while reiterating the NIPR support in that direction.

As a member of the Institute, we believe you will deploy your decency for which you are legendary, your honesty, and your skills as a public relations practitioner to change the narrative.

The delegation therefore presented the report of the Institute during her 2022 Summit titled “Rebooting Nigeria 2.0” to the Honourable Minister and urged him to support its implementation.
