In preparation for the Bayelsa, Imo and Kogi State Governorship Elections the Electoral Institute has conducted a Training of Trainers (ToT) exercise to equip electoral officials on the new BVAS device to enable a hitch-free poll in the states.
The Chairman Board of the Electoral Institute and National Commissioner, Prof. Abdullahi Abdu Zuru speaking at the opening of the exercise on Friday 13th October 2023 said the training is an essential step of implementing electoral activities aimed at improving the quality of service of Adhoc personnel for elections.
Meanwhile, the Director General of the Electoral Institute Dr. Sa’ad Umar Idris urged participants to be strategic and ensure the mastering of all the Technological innovations introduced by the Commission for a smooth election.
Adding that the operations of the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) for the accreditation of voters, the newly improved INEC Result Viewing Portal (IReV), and the filling and completion of all forms should be treated with utmost professionalism for the interest of democracy.
Also, the Country Director, IFES, Seray further hinted that IFES and the TEI are particular about election effectiveness and urged them to support the Commission’s quest to achieve true democracy.
At the training, INEC E- -School, INEC Training Bot, and INEC Training Reporting and Coordination tool were conducted alongside a comprehensive update on Gender Inclusivity for the scheduled 11th November 2023 governorship elections
