The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) FCT Council, has said that it is organizing an interdenominational prayer for members and families on Friday, October 27, 2023, to seek God’s intervention in the union’s affairs.
In a statement issued on Tuesday 24th October 2023 by the Secretary of Council, Comrade Ochiaka Ugwu said that the prayer session has become imperative to solicit the help and face of God concerning the state of the union as well as to bring members closer to their creator.
According to the statement, “The recent turn of events at the council is quite disturbing with many deaths and illnesses involving members and their relatives being experienced like never before. We consider this imperative in view of the fact that our great union is passing through very challenging times at the moment, despite its abundant human, and mental resources.
“NUJ is a vibrant and virile union full of vigor, resourcefulness, and eggheads and has all it takes to be one of the greatest councils in the country. Regrettably, it has been bedeviled with misfortunes making it impossible for it not to be where it should be at the moment.
Consequently, all journalists practicing in the territory and their relatives are invited to participate in the program.
All Chapel chairmen are directed to mobilize their members for the program.
Colleagues are to assemble at the NUJ FCT Council Secretariat, Utako in Abuja for the prayer by 10: 00 a.m.
We urge all to join this solemn assembly in order to bring the union into a new era of peace, unity, safety, and all-round prosperity.
We pray that Almighty God will use the program to address the spiritual dimensions of the challenges plaguing the union and frustrate every evil plan against us.”
All journalists practicing in the Federal Capital Territory and their relatives are enjoined to participate in the prayer session in order to subdue all evil plans against members and their families.
