GROUNDBREAKING CEREMONY: COAS ASSURES STAFF CONDUCIVE QUARTERS

SAYS OF ABDUL SAMAD RABIU QUARTERS WILL MEET MODERN-DAY NEEDS OF THE STAFF

As part of efforts to provide conducive housing units for personnel of the Nigerian Army (NA). the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja has performed Ground-breaking/foundation laying for the construction of Abdul Samad Rabiu Corporal and Below Quarters at the Muhammadu Buhari Cantonment, Giri Abuja.

Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony on Thursday 9 November 2023 the COAS said the Housing project under the auspices of the Abdul Samad Rabiu Initiative for Africa (ASR Africa) is the organization’s Corporate Social Responsibility extended to the NA.

Lieutenant General Taoreed applauds the ASR Africa under the Chairmanship of BUA Group, Alhaji Abdul Samad Rabiu, and his management team for their laudable gesture in supporting the NA in its effort to meet the accommodation needs of the NA.

He added that the project will immensely contribute to addressing the huge infrastructure deficit, the NA is currently facing in Abuja.

The COAS stated that the NA under his leadership, will continue to give utmost priority to the welfare of personnel as crystalized in the third beam of his Command Philosophy, which is to provide Sound Administration and support to the home front of personnel as a major pillar.

General Lagbaja observed that stakeholders cannot afford to leave the burden of national security to the government alone, and called on other corporate organizations to emulate ASR Africa in meeting some of the essential needs of the security agencies.

On his part, the Chairman of BUA Group, Alhaji Abdul Samad Rabiu, represented by the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer ASR Africa, Dr Ubon Udoh stresses that they seek to enhance development solutions in the area of health, and education.

He noted that their topmost priority is to assist the security sector with grants, and applauded them for channeling it to infrastructural development.

A statement by the Director of Army Public Relations, Brigadier General ONYEMA NWACHUKWU revealed that the foundation laying had 120 units of Corporal and Below Quarters.
