NCPC BOSS SEEKS STRONGER TIES WITH  NIGERIA/ISRAEL  PARLIAMENTARY  GROUP FOR PILGRIM ADVOCACY

The Executive Secretary Nigeria Christian Pilgrim Commission, Rev Yakubu Pam has urged members of the  Nigeria/Israel House of Representatives Parliamentary friendship Group in Nigeria to build a stronger partnership with the Commission to advocate for the well-being of Christians in the country.

He made the call on Thursday 30th November, 2023 in Abuja during a courtesy call by members of the Group led by the chairman  of the committee, Hon Kobis Thimnu.

Rev .Pam while commending the setting up of the new standing committee said it will strengthen both the NCPC, Israel and Christians on pilgrimage issues globally.

More good things will come through your committee.

Your coming today is to  think with us and proffer solutions on how to move the commission forward

I am glad that we have this group in the House of Representatives.

The NCPC boss further briefed the group on the commission’s challenges and successes recorded, even as he applauds President Bola TInubu for his relentless support to the Commission on the 2023 Easter pilgrimage completion exercise. 

On his part, the chairman of the Nigeria / Israel Parliamentary Friendship Group of the House of Representatives, Hon. kobis Thimnu while commending the Executive Secretary of the NCPC said the visit is aimed at familiarizing with the commission to foster a good working relationship for great impact.

The Chairman of the group, however, called on the Israeli to exercise restraint on the ongoing war to avoid creating more humanitarian issues in Gaza.

He added that they desire to promote legislative action through the Israeli Parliament to curb the abscondment  of pilgrims during pilgrimage, even as he solicits the setting up of the group Secretariat to improve the relationship with the Commission.
