SAYS DELTA STATE NEW REC WILL BE SWORN IN BY JANUARY 2024
As part of measures to ensure professionalism in the conduct of elections, nine new Resident Electoral Commissioners (RECs) have been sworn in by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to guarantee the effectiveness of the electoral process.
The event followed the confirmation by the senate on President Tinubu’s approval for ten RECs, out of which the expected REC for Delta state will be sworn in by January 2024 upon the expiration of the REC in the state.
Speaking during the occasion at the INEC headquarters on Tuesday 12th December 2023, the INEC boss Professor Mahmood Yakubu charged them to maintain decorum to the affairs of the commission while judiciously managing the little resource at their disposal for accountability purposes.
