PRE-PILGRIM TOUR: NCPC, DELEGATION ARRIVE ATHENS, GREECE

The Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission, (NCPC) and state delegation who went on a pre-visit tour ahead of the pilgrim exercise slated for early 2024 arrived in Athens, Greece on 20th December 2023 to ascertain the impact of the holy sites and inspect the hotels where the pilgrimage will be lodging during their visit in the ancient city of Greece.

Celestine Toruka, Deputy Director and Head Media and Public Relations of the NCPC stated on 20th December, 2023 that.

The delegation landed at Athens International Airport at 6:20 pm local time and was received by the ground handlers.

The delegation was in Rome from 16th to 20th December 2023 where they visited some of the important holy sites and relics in Rome as well as inspection of hotels.

The delegation will be in Greece from 20th to 23rd December which would allow them to visit some of the designated holy sites and hotels in preparation for the 2023 Main Pilgrimage exercise to Rome and Greece, scheduled for early next year.

While in Greece, the delegation would visit holy sites in Corinth, and Athens, amongst others

At the end of the visit, the Executive Secretary of NCPC, Rev Yakubu Pam is expected to have a strategic meeting with the state Pilgrimage leaders in Athens to review the impact of the pre-visit brainstorm on critical issues, and proffer solutions to the Pilgrimage exercise in Rome and Greece.
