ECOWAS COMMENDS SIERRA LEONE GOVERNMENT FOR GRANTING FORMER PRESIDENT BAI MEDICAL TRIP

The Economic Community of West African States has expressed gratitude to the authorities of Sierra Leone for granting Sierra Leone’s former president Bai Koroma, permission to travel outside his home country on medical and health grounds.

A communique issued by ECOWAS on 20th January 2024, revealed that the humanitarian gesture serves a greater interest in Sierra Leone and the ECOWAS region.

ECOWAS renews its commitment to supporting the government and the

people of Sierra Leone in their efforts to foster peace and security as well

as to deepen democracy and good governance.

Meanwhile, the ex-president of Sierra Leone had on Friday, 19th January arrived in Abuja, Nigeria where he was received by top ECOWAS officials.
