NIGERIA’S FOREIGN MINISTER CALLS FOR ACTIVE INCLUSION IN UN SECURITY COUNCIL

SAYS THE WORLD NEEDS TO PRACTICE THE TRUE DEMOCRACY IT PREACHES

The Nigerian Foreign Affairs Minister Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar has echoed the need for Nigeria to be part and parcel of the United Nations (UN) security council, stressing that it has played a strategic role economically in Africa and beyond.

He gave the insight in a panel at the just concluded World Economic Forum (WEF) meeting in Davos, Switzerland, themed ‘Securing an Insecure World’

Tuggar while dwelling on the persistent conflicts, climate crises, fragile global economies, and the potential risks of new technologies that are creating a complex global security environment, said democracy must be replicated in the world’s highest decision organs such as the UNSC to fit for purpose.
