AS IT COMMENDS SUPREME COURT, DELTANS FOR TRIUMPH VICTORY

The assembly of media professionals, Delta Media Forum (DMF) based in Abuja has extended their heartfelt gratitude over the Supreme Court verdict of the Governor of Delta State, Sheriff Oborevwori for his resounding victory in the 2023 Governorship election.
In a congratulatory statement signed by Chris Onokpegu, Acting Secretary of the Forum, 25th January 2024 said Governor Oborevwori’s triumph at the apex court serves as a testament to the overwhelming support and affection bestowed upon him by the people of Delta State.
It, however, implore Governor Oborevwori to redirect his focus toward effective governance, emphasizing the prompt and uncompromised completion of ongoing projects in the State, even as it calls for immediate reconciliation, engaging with individuals of visionary intellect to foster transformation that will bring changes in the State.
Consequently, Benjamin Ubiri, the Coordinator of the Forum, while expressing his satisfaction over the verdict’s outcome, stated,
As a Forum, we joyfully celebrate with the People of Delta State and Governor Chief Sheriff Oborevwori for the triumph at the apex court.
This unequivocally concludes the courtroom distractions that have impeded the governor and his team. With this resolution, we urge Governor Oborevwori to intensify his focus and extend a hand of collaboration to all, regardless of political affiliations.
We also implore Governor Oborevwori to attentively consider the insights of those with innovative ideas for advancing our beloved State. Furthermore, we encourage the Governor to invest in human development, particularly focusing on the youths, to deter them from engaging in criminal activities
The Forum is advocating that special attention be given to rural areas of the state to ensure inclusive governance for the dividends of democracy.
