The Independent National Electoral Commission has convened a second strategic meeting with security chiefs to enable early preparation and deployment of personnel ahead of the Edo and Ondo off-cycle governorship elections.
The meeting is part of INEC’s engagement with stakeholders aimed at giving insight into the commission’s commitment to free, fair, and credible elections.
At the event, the INEC Chairman, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu said the commission had already provided a Timetable and the Schedule of Activities for the elections and expressed optimism that in the next six and eight months the elections would be carried out in the country credibly and transparently
