A Non-governmental Organization, Global Rights says at least 4416 people were killed in mass atrocities across the country at the end of 2023
A statement by the Communication office today 8th May 2024 stated that despite the New Year message, of former President Buhari on “The fight against banditry, kidnapping and other crimes in the North West and other regions is gaining momentum…” the country still witnessed mass Atrocities and called on all Nigerians to remain vigilant and collectively demand accountability from the government to ensure the safety of all.
As we count down to the 2024 National of Mourning, we remember all Nigerians who died in the last year due to insecurity in the country and we extend our prayers to grieving families and communities who are forced to bury loved ones in such painful manner.
It further reminded the government of its constitutional duty to protect all citizens, noting that no one is safe till everyone is safe.
