The Executive Council of the Association of West African Legislative Correspondents (AWALCO), has vowed to strengthen the existing partnership with the new leadership of the Parliamentarians to meet the needs of the citizens in the subregion.
Speaking during a courtesy visit paid to the new Speaker of the ECOWAS Parliament, Hajia Maimunatu Ibrahima, at the Secretariat on June 8, 2024, in Abuja, Nigeria.
The President of the association Innocent Odoh while congratulating the speaker on her new role equally presented a congratulatory card to reaffirm their commitment to enhancing regional democracy, good governance, and accountability for the well-being of the citizens.
We are proud to have you as our Speaker. Your experience in parliamentary affairs will undoubtedly bring a lot of value to our partnership. 
We wish you well and are confident that, by the grace of God, we will achieve our set objectives.
The ECOWAS Parliament Speaker, Maimunatu Ibrahima, has expressed her enthusiastic support for collaborating with the association to ensure clear communication of Parliamentary proceedings and successful project implementation across member states.

The visit highlighted the importance of collaboration between the ECOWAS Parliament and AWALCO in achieving greater inclusion towards building stronger economic blocs.
