The European Union has awarded postgraduate scholarships to 142 exceptional Nigerians for the 2024/2025 academic year through the Erasmus+ program.
This incredible opportunity will enable these talented individuals to pursue advanced studies at top European universities as part of this renowned educational initiative.
During a pre-departure orientation held on July 4, 2024, in Abuja, the EU Ambassador to Nigeria and ECOWAS, Ms. Samuela Isopi, underscored the transformative impact of the Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Degree (EMJMD) program.
She highlighted its profound influence on individuals, higher education institutions, and nations both within and outside the EU.
The 142 Nigerian EMJMD recipients represent the first wave of scholars, with the potential for even more to follow. Most will commence their Erasmus+ journey in September 2024. The orientation session provided invaluable insights to help these scholars maximize this prestigious opportunity.
The program Spanning 12 to 24 months each, will have recipients studying in at least three different universities across various countries within and outside the EU.
These Nigerian scholars have gained admission to highly sought-after and cutting-edge programs such as Renewables-based Power Systems, Chemical Innovation and Regulation, Public Health in Disasters, Biorefinery, European MSc in Marine Environment 2030, Soil Science, Systems for Sustainable Engineering, Sustainable Mineral and Metal Processing Engineering, Sustainable Ship and Shipping, and many more exciting fields.
