KACHOLLOM URGES NASCP TO SWIFTLY EXPAND CRITICAL LIFE-SAVING INTERVENTIONS

The Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Health and Social Welfare, Daju Kachollom has called on the management and staff of the National Hepatitis, HIV/AIDS, and Sexually Transmitted Infections Control Programme (NASCP) to renew their commitment to providing critical services to the public.

She made the call while inaugurating new office spaces allocated to NASCP on August 13, 2024, in Abuja.

Daju charged them to offer compassionate and empathetic care to individuals affected by HIV/AIDS, Hepatitis, and STIs.

And urged the NASCP team to deliver services that bring relief and hope to Nigerians, noting the importance of humanity-centred healthcare to restore hope and confidence of the citizens.According to her, shaping health policies is paramount to advancing the sector, even as she commended the Director of Public Health, Dr Chukwuma Anyaike, the Director of General Services, Sulaiman Umar, and the Global Fund for the swift renovation of the project.

At the event, Dr. Adebobola Bashorum, National Coordinator of NASCP, acknowledged the program’s journey since its inception and expressed enthusiasm over the new offices, with a promise to significantly improve NASCP’s operations. Stressing that the state-of-the-art equipment would be judiciously utilized to promote a healthy society.

The event concluded with a tour of the new facilities, attended by several dignitaries, including the newly appointed Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Mines, Dr Osokpunwu Christopher, Director of Public Health Dr Chukwuma Anyaike, Director of General Services Alhaji Sulaiman Umar, and Director of Legal Services Mr Oluwatobi Adewale Omosa.
