NCPC BOSS OFFERS SUPPORT, SYMPATHY TO SHETTIMA, BORNO GOVERNMENT AMID DEVASTATING FLOODS

The Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission (NCPC), Bishop Stephen Adegbite, has joined well-meaning Nigerians to Sympathize with Vice President Kashim Shettima, the people of Borno State, and the Government over the recent flood disaster that struck Maiduguri and its surrounding areas on Tuesday, September 10, 2024.

In a heartfelt statement by Bishop Adegbite on behalf of the Commission’s Chairman, Professor Cletus Gotan described the flood as a tragic and unforeseen event that has not occurred in the region for over 30 years.
Noting that,

The incident, caused by the overflow of the Alau Dam, has left behind a trail of destruction, submerging homes, properties, and critical infrastructure and displacing countless famers.

Adegbite further expressed concern for the victims affected by the flood and acknowledged the scale of the devastation.

mere words cannot fully capture the impact on the lives and livelihoods of Borno’s residents.

He, therefore, called on the federal and state emergency agencies to collaborate swiftly and efficiently to mitigate further damage and prevent additional loss of life while reassuring the people of Borno that President Bola Tinubu has pledged full support to help the state recover from the disaster.

Adegbite prayed for divine intervention and called on all Nigerians to support those affected during this challenging time to provide comfort for the people of Borno ahead of their expected relief.
