The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun, Ph.D., has paid a solidarity visit to the flood-ravaged communities in Borno State as part of his swift response to ensure the safety of all residents despite the devastating effects of the floods.
Speaking at the Borno State Government House on Monday, 16th September 2024, IGP Egbetokun expressed his heartfelt condolences to Governor Babagana Zulum and the people of Borno.
Pledging immediate reconstruction of police facilities damaged by the floods, noting that the rebuilding efforts would commence without delay.
In his response, Governor Zulum commended the IGP for his proactive leadership in advancing police reforms and the force’s responsiveness during crises.
Stressing that the dedication of the police under the IGP’s leadership has enhanced collaboration for the maintenance of security and stability in the state.
The IGP also addressed officers of the Borno State Police Command, urging them to uphold professionalism and work closely with the state government to restore peace and assist in providing relief to affected communities.
The Borno flooding has attracted both local and international attention, with various partners and top government officials offering support to ensure swift recovery.
