IGP MANDATES PR, COMMUNICATION TRAINING FOR 10,000 POLICE RECRUITS TO BOOST COMMUNITY POLICING

To enhance community-based policing and improve public trust, the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Kayode Egbetokun, has mandated specialized training for 10,000 police recruits in public relations, human relations, and communication.

This comprehensive training, set to take place across the Force’s 17 institutions, will equip recruits with the vital interpersonal and communication skills needed to strengthen their connection with the public.

Before this, the IGP directed the Force Public Relations Department to design an intensive course that focuses on fostering trust and building positive relationships between the police and the communities they serve.

The goal is to ensure that our recruits fully embrace the principles of PR and effective communication, which are essential for building trust and fostering positive relationships with the communities they will serve. stated Muyiwa Adejobi, the Force Public Relations Officer.

This initiative reflects the force’s desire to reshape its image and create a more responsive, people-centered policing model across the country.
