By Vincess Okushi

The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun, is set to commission state-of-the-art police barracks, command headquarters, and offices across Adamawa, Sokoto, Jigawa, Nassarawa, and Katsina to enhance professionalism and personnel welfare.

The modern facilities aim to provide officers with a conducive working and living environment while boosting the morale and performance of police officers nationwide.

The IGP, in a statement through the force’s Public Relations Officer, ACP Muyiwa Adejobi, on October 22, 2024, also revealed that apart from these facilities, the upcoming projects, such as Police Stations, Area Command Headquarters, and administrative offices, are part of the ongoing initiative to create a more supportive and efficient police infrastructure.

He cited the recently launched projects, such as the Nigeria Police Force National Cybercrime Center and the new Ogun State Command Headquarters.

Stressing the need for infrastructural upgrades, key to better policing.

Kayode noted that he had procured a fresh batch of operational assets, including Hilux vehicles, Armored Personnel Carriers (APCs), body armour, and anti-riot equipment, noting President Bola Tinubu’s willingness to commission the equipment to enhance an operational and well-equipped police force aimed at tackling the country’s evolving security challenges.

This is more than just infrastructure; it’s about empowering our officers to serve with pride and effectiveness.

The welfare and preparedness of our officers are our top priorities. said IGP Egbetokun

These ongoing projects are part of a commitment to ensure the protection of citizens and guarantee the safety of all.
