The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, has assured that President Tinubu is determined to complete the much-anticipated Abuja-Kano dual carriageway within 14 months.

Speaking during an inspection at Tafa, Niger State, alongside the Minister of Works, Senator Dave Umahi, Idris emphasized that this project represents the administration’s determination to foster economic growth and provide a business-friendly environment.

President Tinubu is resolute. This road will not take another three years to complete.  Idris affirmed.

We are mobilizing every resource and effort to ensure Nigerians have a brand-new expressway in record time.

He noted that the expressway, which has faced significant delays due to disputes with Julius Berger PLC, is now on an accelerated path following the reassignment of the contract.

On his part, Senator Umahi revealed that the Ministry of Works secured a N252.89 billion adjustment to extend the project to Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport and other critical locations.

Adding that the project will also feature solar-powered lighting for sustainability and easier maintenance.

This is more than a road; it’s a lifeline for millions. Umahi stated.

FEC approval is imminent, and Nigerians can count on us to deliver.

The expressway, divided into three phases, is designed to connect the Federal Capital Territory to northern states, enhancing mobility and trade.

By prioritizing transparency, accountability, and timely execution, the administration aims to demonstrate its commitment to delivering impactful infrastructure that drives national progress.

As the countdown begins, the federal government is resolute for a new era of infrastructure that not only meets the needs of today but also prepares Nigeria for tomorrow.
