Dismantle Bandit Hideouts In Major Crackdown
The Nigeria Police Force has achieved a breakthrough by rescuing 207 abducted children and dismantling multiple bandit hideouts across the country.
According to a statement by the Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the operations were part of intensified intelligence-driven efforts to curb banditry and human trafficking.
It said one of the major successes came on January 18, 2025, when operatives of the Kogi State Command intercepted a group of armed bandits planning an attack in Budon Forest.
Adding that in a fierce gun battle, one bandit was neutralized, four others were arrested, and security operatives recovered an AK-47 rifle, ammunition, and motorcycles.
Similarly, in Katsina State, security forces thwarted an attempted attack on Ruwan Doruwa Village, where seven bandits were neutralized while others fled, abandoning 109 rustled livestock.
In a separate operation targeting human trafficking networks, the Ondo State Police Command dismantled a notorious syndicate, rescuing 14 abducted children and apprehending key suspects.
This led to a wider operation that resulted in the rescue of 207 children from traffickers, reinforcing the police force’s resolve to combat crime and ensure public safety.
We remain steadfast in our commitment to safeguarding lives and property. ACP Adejobi emphasized, assuring Nigerians that the force will maintain relentless pressure on criminal elements across the country.
With 2025 declared the “Year of Harvesting Criminals from Their Hideouts,” the Nigeria Police Force has vowed to intensify operations, track down offenders, and bring them to justice.
These recent successes have sent a strong warning to criminals, highlighting the unwavering determination of security agencies to restore peace and security nationwide.
