The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Olufemi Oluyede, has reaffirmed his commitment to advancing personnel training across all ranks of the Nigerian Army to enhance professionalism and operational excellence. 

Speaking during his visit to the Depot Nigerian Army in Zaria on Monday, January 20, 2025, he emphasized that his administration will prioritize training to set a new benchmark for the military.

In these challenging times, improved training is not just an option but a necessity to equip our personnel with the skills needed to tackle evolving security threats. General Oluyede declared.

He pledged to provide the necessary resources and an enabling environment to support effective training while urging troops to remain dedicated, disciplined, and committed to their duties. 

The COAS assured the personnel of his unwavering commitment to improving their welfare and well-being, recognizing their sacrifices in safeguarding the nation.

In his remarks, the Commandant of the Depot Nigerian Army, Major General Mohammed Abdullahi, expressed gratitude for the COAS’s steadfast support in addressing institutional challenges. 

He highlighted the Depot’s recent centenary celebration as a testament to its long-standing contributions to manpower development and its crucial role in ensuring national peace and security.

General Oluyede’s visit reaffirms the Army’s dedication to strengthening its ranks through continuous training and professional development, positioning the Nigerian Army for greater effectiveness in safeguarding the nation.
