ECOWAS Chief Bolsters Ties With EU, UK At Mahama’s Inauguration

Reaffirms commitment To Supporting Ghana’s aspirations For Economic Growth 

ECOWAS Commission President Dr Omar Touray joined world leaders in Accra for the historic inauguration of Ghana’s 6th President, John Mahama, marking a significant moment in the nation’s democratic journey. 

The occasion also celebrated a milestone with the swearing-in of Dr. Naana Opoku-Agyemang as Ghana’s first female Vice-President, symbolizing progress and inclusion in the country’s leadership.

On the sidelines of the event, Dr Touray engaged in strategic discussions with EU representative Bernard Quintin and UK official Lord Ray Collins to strengthen partnerships aimed at fostering regional cooperation.

Strengthening these relationships is key to driving regional development and fostering mutual prosperity. Dr. Touray emphasized.

The inauguration drew high-profile attendees, including ECOWAS Chair and Nigerian President, Bola Tinubu, alongside leaders from Kenya, Rwanda, and the United Nations. 

Their presence highlights the importance of unity and cooperation in advancing West Africa’s economic and democratic future.

As Ghana embarks on a new chapter, ECOWAS reaffirmed its commitment to is supporting the nation’s aspirations for good governance, economic growth, and regional stability.
