Warns of Global Health Impact

In a statement following the U.S. President’s inaugural speech announcing the withdrawal, WHO expressed deep regret and called on the U.S. to reflect on its pivotal role in global health initiative.

For over seven decades, the partnership between WHO and the United States has saved countless lives and protected people worldwide. The statement read.

It noted that the U.S. has been a driving force behind major health milestones, including the eradication of smallpox and the near-elimination of polio.

Adding that this support has been crucial in responding to disease outbreaks and strengthening healthcare systems in some of the world’s most vulnerable regions.

WHO also pointed to significant reforms undertaken in recent years to improve transparency and efficiency, emphasizing that continued collaboration with the U.S. is vital to sustaining global health progress.
